David Heath showing Burmese kids his photos

It was the desire for adventure that led David Heath to the world of artistic travel photography. Raised in Southern California, David is an avid surfer and skier, pursuits which have allowed him to spend what some might consider “a borderline-unreasonable amount of time outdoors.” Yet it was these activities that provided an intimate connection to the environment -- and ultimately compelled him to capture the stunning moments he witnessed each day. It became David’s unflinching desire to explore the world, photograph unique, uncommon experiences, and share them with others.

David developed a career in the Environmental Engineering industry but it was during a trip to Europe in 1998 that he began taking pictures on a Canon AE-1 film camera, and very quickly discovered his true passion as a photographer.

In pursuit of images, David has travelled through Bhutan, Nepal, Cambodia, Africa (Botswana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Namibia, Morocco), Peru, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, the Maldives and Indonesia (West Papua, Borneo, Sumatra, Java), as well as several European countries. With several more trips to Burma planned in the coming years, David will also lead a number of photographic travel tours. Each location has opened a new world of diverse photographic opportunities as he searches tirelessly for shots that express his appreciation for their unique and varying cultures.
